Situated in the Chatelard area
of Val d'Isere, this ski chalet has an outlook to both the Bellevarde
and Solaise mountains and up the Manchet Valley.
This Chalet is ideal for groups who want a cosy and comfortable
catered ski chalet to relax in after a hard day of skiing or
snowboarding. It comprises, 5 bedrooms, 5 shower rooms, an attractive
open plan kitchen, dining area and lounge with a log fire in
the centre of the room. There is a large terrace off the lounge
- a wonderful suntrap in the springtime. Lots of refurbishment
has taken place over the summer of 2008 including the installation
of new w.cs (two bedrooms are now entirely en-suite), doors
and flooring. This chalet has a WiFi connection.
Le Chatelard area is serviced
by a free shuttle bus which runs to and from the edge of the
nursery slopes from 9.30 am until 8.00 pm. If you want to sample
some of Val d'Isere's nightlife, then the centre of the town
is just 15 minutes walk or a very short taxi ride away.
Skiing from the Chalet
In the morning a flattish walk of about 150 metres takes you
to a gentle downhill path which leads to the Solaise nursery
slopes and main lifts. To return to the chalet competent skiers
and snowboarders can ski back to within about 100 metres of
the chalet. Less competent skiers can traverse from the top
of the Rogoney nursery chair leaving them with approximately
a 200 metre walk to the chalet. Alternatively, anyone can jump
on the free shuttle bus which connects Le Chatelard with the
edge of the nursery slopes.
Meals
Breakfast
is provided every morning and consists of tea, coffee, fruit juice,
porridge, muesli, cereal, yoghurts, plus bread, jams and honey.
In addition, there will ba a variety of cooked items offered each
day, eg: fried egg and sausages, scrambled egg with croissants,
with a full English breakfast offered on one day per week.
On the chalet staff day off breakfast is a D.I.Y affair, with
guests being given the opportunity to cook their own breakfast!
Afternoon tea is prepared and
left out for you to help yourself after your skiing or snowboarding,
and consists of tea, coffee, hot chocolate, bread, jams, etc.,
plus a homemade cake or biscuits or scones.
Dinner, normally served around
eight o'clock, is a delicious three course meal plus cheese accompanied
by good quality house red and white wine with coffee and tea to
finish.
For those guests perhaps wanting to purchase another wine for
a special occasion, we have a short wine list available in all
chalets.
Let us know in advance if there are vegetarians or individuals
with specific food allergies, and we will make sure that the menus
are devised with these requirements in mind.
